Mumbai :- Goregaon Sports Club elections saw the greatest ever mandate given by members in favour of Dr. Vinay Jain and his GSC UNITED panel. The team bagged a whopping 23 out of 24 seats against Dr. Shyam Agrawal Panel and Gen Next Panel. Interestingly, Gen Next led by Sunil Singhania and Mukul Agrawal had formed an alliance with Dr. Shyam Agrawal against Dr. Vinay Jain who was supported by Pradeep Rathod.
“GSC UNITED proposed to amend the bye laws of the club for compulsory cooling period for candidates having won two consecutive elections to bring in fresh new leadership at regular intervals. GSC UNITED pitched for anti-nepotism and advocated a member centered approach in club governance. This was whole heartedly supported by the members”, commented Pradeep Rathod of Cello Group who was the main pillar strength for GSC UNITED and Dr. Vinay Jain.

Major infrastructure facelift was undertaken by the team and completed in record time to give the club a five star look with modern amenities. Members hence rewarded them with a historical mandate. This election saw the unprecedented defeat of some very prominent names like Sunil Singhania, Mukul Agrawal, Dr. Shyam Agrawal, Dr. Sunil Agrawal, Dr. Rajesh Binyala, Raman Jindal, Piyush Maheshwari, Dr. Vipul Patel, Rituraj Gupta amongst others.
